Level dependent automatic activation of manual mode

On Stompbox.net a user presented a nice idea. The Boss GT-10 & Boss GT-8 can automatically switch between bank mode and manual mode! Manual mode when playing and bank mode when not playing.

This means that as long as we're playing we can e.g. switch on delay, compressor, overdrive or chorus!

Depending on the input level the Boss GT-10 manual mode is automatically activated or deactivated!

Programming the source and target values of the variable assigns

Select the first free variable assign:

Target Manual On/Off
Target Min: Off
Target Max: On
Source: INPUT LEVEL
Source Mode: Normal (GT-8) / Moment (GT-10)
Source Act.Range Lo: 126
Source Act.Range Hi: 127

Then set "ASSIGN INPUT Sens" to an approriate value, so that the manual mode switches on when playing.

How does it work?

The selected source (the input level) controls the target (the manual mode). When the source is min. then the target switches to "Target Min". (in this case OFF!) an when the source is max. then the target switches to max. (ON).
